If there is one way to describe BTS’s music it is as an ever-evolving sound of what the members of that band think fit their voice best in each comeback. Be it Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, Indie Rock, Disco or Soul Music, there is something for everyone. And this extends to the themes, too, as they have gone from angsty teens to lost young men trying to find their purpose to falling in love and finding their purpose. Their sound is like the ever-evolving universe. But if you know the members and their personalities there is a pretty vivid picture of their vibe. So based on their music and the band as a whole, here is The Bombay Circle Press’ list of five novels to read if you are a BTS fan.
- Carrying On by Jonita Davis
Starting off on a light-hearted note, Jonita Davis’ Carrying On takes you on a hilarious journey when Nadia is tasked by her father to solve a murder mystery. And for the most part things are going well, but that is until she finds herself tied to a chair and three gangsters are chasing a ferret. All hell breaks loose and she must find the culprit before it’s too late.
- The Night Circus by Eren Morgernstern
Whether or not you are in the Magic Shop, there’s a novel to read that captures the essence of the concert performance and it’s called The Night Circus by Eren Morgernstern.
The novel will transport you to the Le Cirque des Rêves circus that mysteriously shows up and is open only at night. In the giant tent, Celia and Marco, two young magicians must dual each other. But sooner than later, sparks don’t just fly from their magic, love has also made its way in the circus.
- All The Lovers In The Night by Mieko Kawakami
For the seemingly lost souls who find peace in Life Goes On, Intro: Persona or Spring Day, life’s purpose and the greater good might seem lost forever. But life is about taking the small steps to make it all right.
Mieko Kawakami’s All The Lovers In The Night will make you laugh and cry and help you find peace in the chaos of life. Fuyuko Irie, a freelance copy editor living alone in Tokyo, is one day hit with the realisation that there is rarely anything that brings joy in her life. When the realisation hits, she goes through ups and downs and backwards and forwards to make semblance of her life, break patterns, make new friends and build a life that she wants to live.
- The Picture Of Dorian Gray by Orscar Wilde
If Dorain Gray was alive in 2025, he would have loved Jimin’s Filter. But since that can never happen, if we can recommend a novel to read it is The Picture Of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde who loved not just Jimin in the red suit but also the message of the song.
Absolutely in love with himself, Dorian Gray cannot bear the thought of growing old and losing his youth. So, influenced by his friend Lord Henry Wotton, he not only exchanges his soul for eternal youth, but is also drawn to indulge in desires that are frowned upon by society.
- The Stranger by Albert Camus
If you resonate with RM’s philosophy and search for the deeper meaning of life, you would enjoy Albert Camus. One of Albert Camus’ most celebrated and critically acclaimed books, The Stranger follows the absurdist story of an unknown man who unwittingly gets tangled up in a senseless murder at Algerian Beach.
Every one has their bias in the band, whether it’s for a song, album or member. Keeping those in mind, we have curated this list. And if you enjoy K-dramas, check out our blog that captures the chaotic, romantic and softness of the beloved media.
