There is nothing quite like knowing a highly anticipated fantasy fiction book is on its way. The waiting, the theories, the copious amounts of time spent staring at the preorder page…we have all been there. From magical kingdoms and dangerous bargains to demons at Yale, 2026 has some exciting fantasy fiction releases waiting for readers. And to make things a little easier The Bombay Circle Press has rounded up some of the most anticipated titles to look out for this year.

Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo
If you have been waiting for the next chapter of Leigh Bardugo’s Ninth House series, the wait is over. Releasing this September, Dead Beat brings the trilogy to an explosive conclusion. The story follows Alex Stern after she returns from hell, only to discover that she may have left the door open behind her.
Now, demons are creeping through New Haven and Yale, feeding on the souls of the living. Alex and her allies must uncover the secrets buried within Yale’s societies before the gates to the underworld open completely. With dark academia, demons, secret societies, and plenty of danger, this is one thriller to keep on your radar.

The Mirror of Infinite Endings by Stephanie Garber
Good news for anyone who is not ready to leave the Magnificent North behind just yet. Stephanie Garber returns with The Mirror of Infinite Endings, a beautifully illustrated novella set in the world of Once Upon a Broken Heart.
Jacks and Evangeline Fox have finally found their happily-ever-after, and everything in the Hollow seems perfect. Of course, since this is a fairy tale, something is bound to go wrong. Featuring familiar faces, more than twenty full-page illustrations, and another twist in Jacks and Evangeline’s story, this fantasy romance novella, set to release at the end of September, promises another enchanting trip.

A Court of Splintered Harmony by Sarah J. Maas
It has been a long wait, but Sarah J. Maas is finally bringing her readers back to Prythian this fall. A Court of Splintered Harmony marks the sixth book in the globally bestselling ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses series’. Koschei the Deathless is stirring, and his growing threat puts the Fae territories at risk. Meanwhile, the Night Court must deal with betrayals, fractured alliances, and the aftermath of the Hybern War. Romance, danger, political intrigue, and fae magic make this one of the biggest fantasy fiction releases of 2026.
For fantasy lovers, it is certainly a good time to have an unnecessarily large TBR, and perhaps you may also fancy re-reading the previous books to refresh your memory.
A Court of Forgotten Melody by Sarah J. Maas
And yes, there is another one. Sarah J. Maas will follow A Court of Splintered Harmony with A Court of Forgotten Melody on 12th January 2027. That means readers will get two new ACOTAR books just a few months apart!
From dark academia and demons to enchanted kingdoms and swoon-worthy fantasy romance, these upcoming fantasy fiction books have plenty to look forward to. The Bombay Circle Press Bulletin hopes at least one of these releases finds its way onto your TBR.
